WHAT KIND OF OPPONENT
Hello! In this article I would like to describe you how to analyze the opponent by his behavior. Just by checking the body of the opponent you can know many things!
- The attacker comes to you with his face very close to yours and he takes his arms and hands behind him (face forward and hands back). In this case his face says: “I am not afraid and I want to attack you!” but his hands behind him say: “I want someone that grabs me in order to stop me… I don’t want to fight really…”. So in this situation you have to ask him some questions, e.g. “Are you ok?” because you have to switch his brain to the thought (reason) part from the feeling one. Now he has to answer you and this brings him to think about what he is doing and about what he really wants to do…
- The attacker comes to you with his arms and hands forward, close to you. This kind of attacker is more dangerous than the previous one because he really wants to fight! In this case you have to chose one of the three “F”: Freeze, Fly, Fight. First of all you have to put your hands up: if your hands are down even you are very fast it is impossible to defend a punch! So use your hands while you are talking with him in order to take them always up and ready to defend yourself: if your opponent attacks you, you can make defense all the time. Note: don’t hold your arms in a fighting position because this is an invite for your opponent to attack you! You have only to take them up and move them while you are talking.
- The attacker is nervous but he comes to you trying to be in a relax mode like to say: “No, don’t worry, I don’t want to fight…”. This kind of attacker is very dangerous because he will start to attack you at any second!!! Hold your hands up and be ready to defend yourself!
So remember: don’t jump in a fight immediately but try to analyze the body behavior of your opponent.
